COVID-19 Update

NOTICE: Effective November 1, 2021, we are “back to normal”. What this means is that we have resumed normal operations in a “normal” but “aware” mindset. We continue to maintain and clean throughout the day, and we ask that you use your own judgement as to things like if you should wear a mask or otherwise. We do not require them. We do continue to maintain reasonable distance when interacting with you at drop off and pick up times with your pet. And if you wish for us to receive your pet out at your vehicle, we will gladly offer that service at no charge to you. We want you to do what is best for you, and we want you to make those decisions without any pressure from us. We want to continue to serve you and care for your pets in a way that is best for your pet, while also suiting your needs. We strive to offer the best pet boarding in Sumter. Thanks so much for choosing us! We love your pets!

———————————- ORIGINAL POST ———————————-

Good Morning,

As you are likely aware, there have been government ordered shelter in place orders, washing hands frequently, hand sanitizer sellouts, social distancing guidelines, and just a list of things done in effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic has almost certainly affected everyone in some way. In the wake of all this, we are taking measures to ensure the safety of your pets and our staff members. The following is information about COVID-19 and what we are doing.

Are you still operating?
Currently, yes, Sumter Pet Sitters is a type of business that is deemed “essential” by the state. We have not changed our hours; we continue offering 2 distinct pick up and drop off times each day. Those two times remain 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday, and 9:00am and 4:00pm on weekends as well. We will keep you posted of any further changes, but currently we are not planning to cease operation or change these 2 specific times for pick up and drop off of your precious pets.

What are you doing to keep pets, customers, and staff safe during this time?
At Sumter Pet Sitters, we have always practiced methods of constant cleaning and sanitation. Even in normal times, it is our duty to ensure pets are kept in a clean environment to help prevent the spread of illness such as canine cough, which is why we require the Bordatella Vaccination (Kennel Cough Vaccination). We have upped our cleaning and sanitation times to ensure the safety of the pets in our care as well as our staff. Like everyone else, we are practicing good hygiene (hand washing, wearing gloves, covering mouth when sneezing/coughing, etc.) and social distancing as much as possible.

Curbside pick up/drop off service
For your convenience and protection, we are currently offering curbside service using the designated pick up and drop off times, and parking area for daycare, grooming, boarding and shop item pick ups (i.e. etched bowls/treats/toys). Just give the staff a quick text at (803) 600-2149, and we will meet your needs using the utmost sanitary precautions, even without you getting out of your car if you prefer. Just let us know ahead of time of any special requests or needs you might have.

*New* Online Booking using Debit/Credit Card, or choose PayPal Payments through the Website
Online Booking is now available for quickly arranging your pet boarding needs. The availability calendar is live, and it’s never been easier to book your pet’s stay-cation with us! This feature is available right from the main page, or by clicking the “Boarding” link from any other page on the website. You can easily pay online while booking, using your debit/credit card, or pay with PayPal (No PayPal Account is Required to Use this Feature).

And as always…
If you are ever in need of care for you pets, remember we are here for you. While many of you may be working from home, you can always drop off Fido for daycare for a day while you run errands and take of things you need to do some day. Or even if Fido is demanding attention while you are working on that important report due at the end of the day, we are here to help you with your pet care needs, and to give Fido a break from home as well. We hope you think about us when it comes to your pet’s needs. Regardless, we wish you all well in this hard time. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.

We are quickly available by text if you have any special requests or concerns. (803) 600-2149. We will get back to you quickly and help any way we can. You can also reach out to us via the “contact us” link on the website, or by email at [email protected] with any questions or concerns.

Thank you and prayers for you and your family,

The Sumter Pet Sitters Team
